The Solar Crush
Last night I was able to see the red sun setting. This morning was the red sun rising. Rising above the of trees and fog. I'd say it was beautiful, just because my vocabulary has become extinct. The morning's blushing star rose from an ocean of suspended molecules and wooden statues. Idiot.
Those two instances of seeing the sun brought me back to the movie Sunshine. I'd pay to see it again, I'd buy the dvd and watch it with others. I'd probably blog about it again. Awesome film. I love the Sun, but I'm not 'in' love with the Sun. I'm no Icarus. It is a burning star. Its [fucking] people up at the moment because its hot as a shaggy dog's ass. But I still love the sun, more than the moon.
Ohhh, but enough about me...
Do you call a setting sun a sun rising? Sunset Rubdown is yet another one of those unique indie bands that has me begging for more. The tracks Magic vs. Midas, The Mending Of The Gown, The Taming Of The Hands That Came Back To Life, Setting vs. Rising, and Child-Heart Losers from the release Random Spirit Lover inspire me, but make everything else sound so second best, except for Chin Up Chin Up. They solidify the line up on my sleak black Samsung mp3 player. Remember those Shure earbuds I purchased? Worth every expensive penny.
John Vanderslice, The Snake,The Cross,The Crown, and Panda Bear will be talked about and punched in the face soon, along with Maritme and Eisley. I'm not sure if I like Grizzley Bear or Architecture In Helsinki yet because Sunset Rubdown makes them sound like crap.
i don't think i think i know, i [fucking] know

My first official recommendation to you is "The Quiet Side of Me" by Meese. And feel free to pronounce that however you feel most appropriate. :)
