The Fake Light From The Sun
Sting's offspring has formed a band that I absolutely love. Fiction Plane and their second release Left Side of the Brain has to be one of my top five favorites this year. I love all 11 songs and especially Fake Light From The Sun, Drink, Two Sisters, and Cross The Line. I haven't been so excited about any other band or release since Silversun Pickups and Carnavas. Fiction Plane is on the Police Reunion Tour, receiving much deserved exposure.
Stars are also filling up the disk space with their originals and remixes. Your Ex-Lover Is Dead (Final Fantasy), One More Night (Apostle of Hustle), Calendar Girl (Young Galaxy) and Big Fight (Minotaur Shock) are great. Feist's remixes are awesome too.
I just got my hands on Justice's Cross and Cansei de Ser Sexy's CSS. I can't wait to listen to them as soon as I put down my Left Side of the Brain. The Jai Alai Savant suits the ride home from work perfectly and Iron & Wine's Shepard's Dog serves as a soundtrack for relaxation.
Hot Fuzz, what the crap is going on across the pond? Hot Fuzz was extremely funny by the way. It took about and hour and a half to get to the kick ass ass kicking though, its worth it. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are the stars, you may recognize them from Shaun of the Dead, also nice.
