The Evens Are Against Us
You are now reading the words of Decatur's Wiffleball Homerun King. Saturday night I hung out in Decatur with the same crowd from the tailgating that took place earlier last week. Of course, there was beer and food but we also played a game of wiffle ball where I was the losing pitcher, and later I participated in a homerun derby with some of the guys. It was a tight race but I pulled off the victory with 2 hits in the first round, 0 in the second, and 1 in the [sudden-death/ spelling-bee] rules extra inning or whatever. I wasn't rewarded with anything but the opportunity to begin this post with the dorkiest opening statement.
Other than the usual Bud Light, I tried a few new beers at the suggestion of The Doctor over his stories of being called a Dick. Terrapin Rye Pale Ale had a very odd taste that made sure that it was my first and last bottle of it. The banjo playing turtle on the lable was funny. I'd say I liked Black Dog Amber Ale because had a chocolatey taste, maybe because I was wasted from that point on.
Then came the hilarious gay couple who brought their portable bar and mixer. The Two and The Cougar were planning to set up The Host with a date and embarrasingly pointed out reasons why The Host was single, while The Cougar openly and repeatedly expressed her desperousity [the feeling of being desperate, my word]. These guys had us all in tears and blushing with their risky rants and observations only gay males can succesfully accomplish. Great time. I'd gladly mix it up with this older crowd again.
M.I.A.'s Kala release has given me the opportunity to look like an ass at red lights. It is impossible to refrain from some type of movement when listening to Down River, World Town, and Jimmy. This has to be the best realease of the year in this particular genre.
I don't like Eisley as much as I thought I would. The music doesn't sound original. A Fine Frenzy, Maritime, and The Snake,The Cross, The Crown on the other hand, have rising stock. Chin Up Chin Up, Menomena!, and Sunset Rubdown receive heavy play, even when settings are on random.
