The Short-Haired Girl
I met the girl with short hair in a very small music store in the eccentricities of Little 5 Points, Atlanta last Wednesday. After a horrible Raspberry Mocha Frappuccino from Starbucks we proceded down to the Georgia Tech area for Flicks on 5th. Who can say they [almost] watched a feature film while sitting in the middle of a downtown street? Answer: About 53. The movie 300 was scheduled to show but because of the off and on rain showers I'm not sure if they made it to the death of Leonidas; we skedaddled.
Friday lead to another exploration of the city and a great movie. We caught Sunshine at the Midtown Arts Cinema which was a bitch to find. While waiting in the concessions line, we apparently appeared to resemble the 'Stop For Pedestrians' signs we see in the city because everyone walked in front of us...seriously. After the Twizzlers and beverages were purchased we settled into our seats and began with a hilarious preview for King of Kong. I believe Sunshine was an excellent Sci-fi film but my taste in movies is seldomly shared with others.
After the film, we planned for drinks in East Atlanta Village at The Glenwood. Weaning me away from 'Bitch Beer' like Mike's Hard Berry, the waitress recommended Blue Moon and later Delirium Nocturnum from Belgium. Those two got the job done very nicely. It doesn't take much for me.
After a quick recuperation with Starbucks and Sobe Adrenaline, we take on Saturday. A stop to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to retrieve an acquaintance began the day. The drive there made me thankful for my current job. I used to loath the feeling of going to the airport to begin one of my week long tours. Then there was disappointing shopping at Perimeter and filling sushi in downtown Decatur. I didn't get enough of The Glenwood so we round out the night there, this time for Delirium Tremers.
I say, finally getting home around 4pm Sunday evening is the ending to a fantastic weekend. Thanks to the short-haired girl, G.

Come to think of it, we do look like stop for pedestrians signs.
It was a fantastic weekend.
